ABUJA - The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mr Olusade Adesola has urged residents to pray for peace and economic prosperity of all our people.

While also urging them to use the opportunity provided by this festival to pray for our country Nigeria and our leaders at all levels of government.

Adesola made this known in his Eid-el -Kabir message to FCT residents especially the Muslim faithful.

On behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), it is my privilege to convey my sincere prayers and well wishes to residents of the FCT, especially the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

In a statement he made available to newsmen on Tuesday evening, Adesola hinted that:"The Eid-el-Kabir also known as the festival of Sacrifice, holds great significance as it teaches the values of selflessness, compassion, and the importance of sharing our blessings with those in need.

"During this festive period, let us come together as a community to express gratitude for the countless blessings bestowed upon us. As residents of the Federal Capital Territory, we are fortunate to live in a diverse and harmonious society, where people from various backgrounds and cultures coexist in harmony. Our unity in diversity is a testament to our collective strength and resilience.

"I urge each one of you to embrace the true spirit of Eid-el-Kabir by extending kindness and generosity to fellow residents. Let us reach out to the less fortunate, ensuring that no one is left behind. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of those who are in need, bringing joy and happiness to their hearts.

"As residents of the FCT, let us be reminded that we have an obligation to keep alive the dreams of the founding fathers of the Territory as a symbol of Nigeria's unity and strength. Let us play up those values that tend to unite us and shun those that encourage disunity and division.

"As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, let us renew our hope and commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant FCT, where every resident can thrive and prosper.

"Finally, I would like to remind everyone to observe the necessary public health and security protocols while celebrating this joyous occasion especially as they pertain to environmental sanitation and traffic regulations.

"We should also imbibe the mantra of saying something when we observe anything untoward or suspicious.

"Once again, I wish you all a blessed and joyful Eid-el-Kabir. May this auspicious occasion bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to all our lives," he stated.
